First revealed as the Aston Martin Rapide concept at the Detroit Auto Show, the Rapide is on course for a public debut late this year.

Its perhaps anticlimactic when a production car stays true to an eye-catching concept--except when its an Aston Martin. And the Rapide revealed today is a dead ringer for the stunning show car from 2006.

It seems that the Aston Martin Rapide has moved into the final stages (finally!) of its development programme and the officials say that the debut will be made in late 2009 and it will hit the showrooms in early 2009.
